President Obama has lifted the ban on stem cell research and it makes me very happy. With this ban gone, more research will go into finding cures for diseases that couldn't be cured. Stem cells are really amazing. Stem cells are cells found in most, if not all, multi-cellular organisms. They are characterized by the ability to renew themselves through mitotic cell division and differentiating into a diverse range of specialized cell types. So they can become anything that you want them too. So if a person has a failing kidney, you could already have grown one that matches the person. The opportunities with stem cells are endless and to have had the ban on it really limited potential treatments. Again this is because of the religious groups thinking that using stem cells means killing babies and a former president that supported those views. That's no more, GO OBAMA!!!!
